Hmmm…That’s odd.

hen he introduces the categories at the beginning of each round, does Pat Sajak ever say something like, “…the five questions in each of these categories”? Because here he sometimes says, “…the six questions….”

I guess they show a different Jeopardy! in NYC where they have 6 categories of 5 questions each.

Nope, just an ordinary episode. Jeopardy! always has six questions per category.

You only see five? Maybe we’re in parallel universes or something.

The source of the ignorance was, believe it or not, a Jeopardy! category… …“The British Are Coming!” And as I said, I know it was just a cute way to label six questions about British-type people.

Hey. Was that a very special episode of Jeopardy? I would imagine, since they would’ve had to build an entirely new category board with SIX (no longer five?) questions per category.

“Convo”?

I usually use “Great Britain” because that’s what Americans seem to expect. In fact, the “Kingdom of Great Britain” existed as a political entity from 1707 until 1801, when it added Ireland and became the UK.

So given that I was writing about events that occurred in the 1770s, I actually was referring to the Kingdom of Great Britain. I was wrong when I said I was wrong.

and im guessing that the reason you referred to it as GB–a “deliberately wrong” atc–was to avoid this very convo….or was there another reason?
